Whenever a significant event comes to an end for ArtHouse Jersey a period of reflection begins as we start to analyse the production’s success and impact on the local community. A vital part of any event’s legacy is effective capture; how it is photographed, filmed, recorded and edited for posterity. The imagery captured determines how we remember an event and is a resource that we can look back on to inform work we undertake in future.

Skipton Big Ideas was not easy to document. Being an exhibition with over 20 significant pieces of specially commissioned artworks comprising two live events, a range of professionals brought their skills behind the lens to bear to capture high-quality images. Alongside the day-to-day capture courtesy of independent photographer Callum Thorne and videographer Will Jack Robinson of Submarine Creative, we drafted in the expert creative eye of photographer Danny Evans. Danny is a freelance commercial photographer who has spent the best part of the last 20 years honing his skills. Having started out long before the age of the digital camera, Danny's expertise is vast and as such, the work he produces has been widely sought after by local businesses and global brands alike. Usually with a keen eye on fashion photography and portraiture, we invited Danny to spend time with the art and shoot it as he saw fit. The result is this stunning presentation demonstrating an insight into his unique personal view of the art before him, a collection of photographs taken at the church after dark that will live on well beyond the groundbreaking exhibition.
