Join us to create a bold new opera for the Island.

Raise Your Voice, Jersey! is an ambitious new project redefining opera through co-creation right here in Jersey.

ArtHouse Jersey is collaborating with Jersey-born mezzo-soprano Georgia Mae Bishop to produce a groundbreaking new opera with, by, and for the people of Jersey. This isn't your traditional approach to opera - this is about rediscovering opera as a contemporary art form that belongs to everyone. This project will uncover the playful, heartfelt, and surprising ways opera brings stories to life, connecting Jersey’s young professionals with a stellar team of visiting creatives.

Throughout 2025, this vibrant project will blend storytelling, music, and drama to create something truly innovative, resonant, and uniquely ours.

Get Involved 

We’re looking for storytellers, singers, writers, creatives, performers, and anyone curious about performing arts to contribute to this creative community. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with no prior experience necessary:

  • Join a Workshop: Learn the art of singing, composition, and storytelling to get a flavour of how the opera will be co-created - no music-reading skills are required.

  • Tell Your Stories: Dive into two immersive writing weekends with the creative team, where your stories will help shape the opera’s narrative. 

  • Be Part of the Production: Join the chorus to perform, volunteer as a steward, or contribute your unique skills to help behind the scenes.

  • Experience the World Premiere: Witness the culmination of this year-long project by attending one of two performances presented in partnership with Jersey Opera House.
