We are pleased to welcome Jersey Society of Artists for their annual spring exhibition at our HQ Greve de Lecq Barracks, running from Friday 3 to Sunday 12 May 2024, open between 10am and 5pm. The Jersey Society of Artists is a thriving local art club running sessions at their base in St. Ouen’s Community Centre including outdoor painting during the summer. In this exhibition they will be presenting approximately 60 paintings most of which will be for sale, plus some table-top items including ceramics by artist June Gould. Unframed paintings, prints and handmade cards will also be available.

Approximately 20 artists are exhibiting work in this show and the subjects feature landscapes, seascapes, animals, abstract, still life and portraits across a wide range of media including oils, acrylics, watercolour, gouache, pastel, pencils and collage. Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite painting. Stewards will be present throughout the exhibition to greet visitors and talk about the work on display. For visitors interested in joining the Society the stewards will be able to explain how to sign up.

Sally Reading, President of Jersey Society of Artists, said “Our new exhibition title LIFE IS COLOURFUL is very apt. We are all surrounded by colour, and our artists' work reflects this. I am looking forward to showing off our members' work at ArtHouse Jersey’s Greve de Lecq Barracks Studios. As we all know, art is very good for our well-being. So why settle for a mass-produced piece when you can have your very own one-off! See you there.”

The Jersey Society of Artists exhibition at ArtHouse Jersey’s HQ at Greve de Lecq Barracks will take place from Friday 3 to Sunday 12 May 2024, open between 10am and 5pm.
