Writers Week Panel Discussion
ArtHouse Jersey is hosting four writers in residence for its inaugural Writers Week at Greve de Lecq Barracks.
We invite anyone who in interested in learning more about the writing process, or in meeting these authors to discuss their work, to join us for an informal panel discussion at ArtHouse Jersey at Greve de Lecq Barracks on Thursday 28th November from 6-7pm. Candice Carty Williams

Andy Stanton
Andy Stanton is a children’s author and illustrator, his Mr Gum series has sold 3.6 million copies in the UK alone and has been translated into 32 languages. It has won many prizes, including the inaugural Roald Dahl Funny Prize and two Blue Peter Book Awards. His work has recently been adapted into a musical, Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear, which premiered at the National Theatre in 2019.Andy Stanton has "a comic style all of his own, full of ludicrous similes, uproarious bathos, absurdity and grossness".children's laureate, Michael Rosen
Cesca Major
Cesca writes in two genres under different names. Cesca’s debut historical novel, The Silent Hours, was published to great acclaim and was described by Heat Magazine as "A smart, flawless and unforgettable triumph." Cesca also writes romantic comedy under the name Rosie Blake. The first Rosie Blake book, How To Get A (Love) Life, was originally published by Novelicious Books and was then picked up by Corvus, as part of a three book deal. Alongside her work as an author Cesca runs books camps and writing retreats.
Charlene James
Charlene James is an award-winning playwright and TV writer, currently working on some of the most popular shows on UK TV. Charlene was awarded the Alfred Fagon Award, for best new play at the National Theatre for Cuttin' It, a play focusing on Female Genital Mutilation - which then transferred in 2016 to the Royal Court and Young Vic respectively to considerable critical acclaim and was nominated for Best New Play at the UK Theatre Awards 2016.She was then awarded the Charles Wintour award for Most Promising Playwright at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2016. She was a Jerwood New Playwright 2016 and is currently under commission from RADA, Royal Court and Royal Exchange Manchester.
